2013 Loch Alpine Garage Sale

The Loch Alpine Garage Sales are scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 9 am – 3 pm. The optional preview sale is on Friday evening, May 17, 6 pm – 9 pm for Loch Alpine residents only. No rain date, so hope for good weather.

If you wish to have your sale featured on the neighborhood map, please fill out the form below, include a $5 registration fee, and return to me by Wednesday, May 15. The fee will cover the cost of newspaper ads, signs and fliers. You may also include a short list of featured items to lure shoppers to your sale. Please keep this list brief!

The Boy Scouts will come through the neighborhood to pick up leftovers, starting at 3 pm. You can leave items out on your driveway for them to pick up. It will take them several hours to get through the neighborhood. If they miss your house, please call me for information on how to arrange for pickup at a later date. If you want a record for tax purposes, have a list of donated items for them to sign. The Scouts will not accept: old tires, non-working appliances, furniture with worn upholstery, most clothing (they may take children's clothing if in good condition.)

2013 Annual Meeting Results

The Board of Directors has announced the results of 2013 Annual Meeting of the Loch Alpine Improvement Association:

The proposed annual assessment of $650 was approved by a vote of 185 to 15.

Marvin Boluyt, Bob Sendra and Gordon Sheill were elected to the Board of Directors.

Lucy Cohen received the 2013 Loch Alpine Award.

The winners of the drawing for a waiver of 50% the 2013 annual assessment were William and Carol McGibbon (lot 106) and Dwight and Mary Ann Stevenson (lot 249).

Sanitary Line Cleaning This Week

LASA has contracted with USA Utilities to clean and video inspect saniatry lines alond West Loch Alpine from the water tower to the pool parking lot and on Whitman Circle, Aberdeen, Selkirk, Dunbarton, Gifford and Troon Ct. and the houses on Joy Rd connected to the Aberdeen line.

No service disruptions are expected.

Sheriff Department Non-emergency Number

NEW COMMON NON-EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER FOR WASHTENAW METRO DISPATCH

Washtenaw Metro Dispatch has implemented a common telephone number for non-emergency calls effective immediately. The number is (734) 994-2911.

This number should be used by the public and public safety organizations alike to contact Washtenaw Metro Dispatch for non-emergency business. Please update your telephone directories, speed dials, websites, emergency plans, etc. with this number. The other phone numbers that you may be using will be eliminated in the near future.

(734) 994-2911 will be answered by professional call takers, second only to 9-1-1 emergency calls. This change will improve call management and enhance the service we provide to both citizens and public safety personnel.

The Annual Meeting of the Loch Alpine Improvement Association will be held on March 27 at the Webster Township Hall, 5665 Webster Church Road. Sign-in begins at 7:00 PM. The meeting will start approximatley 7:30 PM.

We need a few volunteers to help with registration and ballot counting. If you will help, please send email to: lochalpineboard@gmail.com.

Residents and lot owners in good standing will be voting for:
- Three open seats on the Board of Directors
- The 2013-2014 Annual Assessment

We need a quorum of people, proxies and absentee ballots. Please come, or please submit a ballot in advance to one of the Board members.

A complete set of Annual Meeting documents, includng a proxy ballot, has been mailed to residents. If you have not received your packet, please notify Select Community Management: management@thecondopros.com.

If you are interesting gardening, consider joining the Loch Alpine Garden Club. You don't have to be an experienced gardener! The club meets the second Wednesday of every month, with the next meeting April 10 at 1:00 PM on the Lower Level of the Dexter District Library.

Please mark your calendar for a "Music in the Park" concert on Saturday, June 22. Details and time forthcoming. But, basically, it will be a casual-but-fun opportunity to relax in the park with neighbor friends while listening to other neighbor friends perform live music from the Pavilion "band stand."
