Huron River Drive Repaving - Good News and Bad News

The Washtenaw County Road Commission has received federal funds to repave Huron River Drive from Tubbs to Zeeb Roads, and from Wagner to North Maple Roads. The repaving is scheduled for this August. Unfortunately, the section between Tubbs and Wagner Roads was deemed to be in too poor condition for simple repaving and therefore ineligible for these particular federal funds.

A group of citizens with the Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society are organizing fund-raising to complete the paving between Tubbs and Wagner Roads. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has found ways/sources to DOUBLE match donations. NOTICE OF ALGAE TREATMENT TO LOCH ALPINE LAKES

Loch Alpine lakes w/b having an algae treatment on either Thurs. 7/08 or Fri. 7/09. Do not use the water for swimming and bathing until 7/09 or 7/10 (24 hrs.), or for other purposes until 7/13 or 7/14. Dexter School Bus Survey

The Dexter school district is planning significant changes to the school bus transportation system for the coming year. Information about these changes was published in a recent flyer: Dexter Bell Times/Ridership Flyer. The survey itself can be accessed on the Dexter Community Schools Web Site. Note that although responses were requested by June 21, the form is still available.

Road Work Notice!

Chip sealing will begin on a number of Loch Alpine roads beginning Tuesday, July 6 (weather permitting)! Roads affected are Troon, Gifford, Dunbarton, Selkirk, Eastgate, Prospect, Morrow, Rondo, Westgate, Curlew, Greenway, Dawson (east portion), South Loch Alpine, Holly Way, Northgate (south of Holly Way intersection), St. Andrews (east of Holly Way), St. Andrews Extension.

Notice of chemical treatment of Loch Alpine lakes

Residents are advised that in the next several days, Loch Alpine lakes will be treated for aquatic weeds and algae. There will be more than one chemical application during the course of the summer, and signs will be posted at the lakes on the days of applications. Please read the signs to be aware of any water restrictions associated with particular applications. All chemical treatments are in accordance with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The chemicals applied in our lakes will not be harmful to fish or wildlife.
